Our friends at CineBrazil see our revolution weekend with a screening of Iracema. This film was censored by the dictatorship in Brazil because of its exposing of the brutal conditions of the Trans Amazonian highway, what was hailed by the government at the time to be an ‘economic miracle’. From the perspective of a young girl travelling into the Amazon this film exposes the dark underbelly of exploitation, human trafficking and forced displacement.
Brazilian food and drinks (fejioadas and capirinhas) will be available - preorder at a discount by getting a food / drink combination ticket.
Doors: 3pm
Screening: 5pm
